INSTRAMURALS 2025 | CCJPS Panthers Dominate as TCC Celebrates Talent, Sportsmanship, and School Spirit

Tagoloan, Misamis Oriental – Tagoloan Community College (TCC) lit up with excitement, talent, and fierce competition during Intramurals 2025, held in conjunction with the 22nd Foundation Day celebrations. The week-long event featured a spectacular showcase of athletic prowess, intellectual skill, cultural talent, and community spirit, bringing together students, faculty, and staff in an unforgettable celebration.
Athletic Excellence Across the Colleges
The College of Criminal Justice and Public Safety (CCJPS Panthers) emerged as the standout performer, claiming multiple championship titles across sports. In Women's Table Tennis, Alexis Jen Bacalanco and Ivy Masandaan secured a thrilling doubles gold, while Jessete Balendres and Dord Buenaflor dominated Mixed Doubles. On the men’s side, Clark Jones Dael and Von Sean Saraus clinched the Men’s Doubles Badminton title, narrowly defeating the College of Business Administration (CBA Dragons) in a hard-fought match.
The Men’s and Women’s Basketball 5x5 tournaments were equally exhilarating, with CCJPS Panthers’ women asserting dominance in the court, while the CBA Dragons claimed the men’s title with a decisive 96–80 victory over the CAS Red Hawks. In volleyball, the CCJPS women’s team captured the championship in a nail-biting three-set match against CBA Dragons, while CBA Dragons secured the men’s volleyball crown with precision and teamwork.
Track and field also saw spectacular performances. Dichos of COEd Phoenix achieved a historic 200-meter sprint double, while Pamon of CCJPS secured the men’s title. In throwing events, Lacuarin of CCJPS Panthers captured dual golds in Shot Put and Javelin, and Permacio of COEd Phoenix sealed the men’s javelin title with a 41-meter blast. Araneta and Beltran demonstrated exceptional skill in Discus Throw, adding to the roster of memorable athletic feats.
Table Tennis and Badminton Showdowns
Table Tennis matches brought intense action at the NEE Building, with CBA Dragons taking the Women’s Singles, while CCJPS Panthers’ Jake Geografia triumphed in the Men’s Singles. COEd Phoenix claimed the Men’s Doubleschampionship with a clean 3–0 victory, and COEd Phoenix also secured Women’s Doubles Badminton through the dynamic duo of Snooky Marie Ochegue and Leah Paca. In singles badminton, Louie Jay Valcorza (CBA Dragons) and Marcel Ann Balista (CBA Dragons) dominated the men’s and women’s events, respectively.
The Mixed Doubles Badminton title went to CHM Eagles’ Marie Jay Granada and Brian Kent Cabuncag, showcasing teamwork and composure under pressure.
Darts Competition Highlights
Darts competitions added excitement and precision-based skill to the Intramurals. The CCJPS Panthers claimed the Women’s Singles Gold through Dane O. Artajo, while CBA Dragons’ Spike Muñoz won the men’s singles event. In doubles, CCJPS Panthers’ Shane Baldesanso and Jangjang Veligaño took Mixed Doubles Gold, and the CBA Dragons’ Marjorie Libosada and Nicole Cagadas triumphed in Women’s Doubles.
E-Sports and Intellectual Competitions
The CIT Foxes achieved a historic three-peat championship in Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) E-Sports, with SHYNEXTDOOR and CRIMSON X IT battling in a gripping best-of-five match. On the intellectual front, the CBA Dragons dominated Men’s and Women’s Standard Team Chess, demonstrating strategy, coordination, and focus, adding to the college’s legacy in mind sports.
Cultural and Community Showcases
Intramurals 2025 also celebrated culture and community spirit. The Socio-Cultural Night featured dazzling performances and messages from TCC officials, including VP for Academic Affairs Dr. Kharen Jane S. Ungab and Hon. Armando Pomar. The Boodle Table Feast showcased creative food displays from each college, emphasizing teamwork, Filipino culinary tradition, and camaraderie among students and faculty.
Adding flair to the celebrations, the Mr. and Ms. TCC 2025 Coronation Night highlighted poise, charm, and intellect, while the Battle of the Bands electrified the Tagoloan Dome with energy and musical talent, providing a vibrant conclusion to Intramurals week.
Faculty & Staff Participation
The FacStaff Olympics energized the campus, with a lively Zumba competition hosted by Prof. Melan Dave Lalucan, fostering wellness, community, and engagement among faculty and staff.
